How beautifully everything is arranged by Nature, as soon as a child enters the world, it finds a mother ready to take care of it.
— Jules Michelet, French Historian

A MOTHER'S LOVE, A CHILD'S TRUST

THE STORY

Told with simple words, ideas, and illustrations, 'The Life I Know' is the story of a polar bear cub and its mother, and a brief glimpse into the daily events of their lives.

Through the observations of the naive yet curious cub, we learn about a way of life in the coldest place on earth, while discovering some of the things that tie us all together. We see how love and devotion can exist wherever two hearts beat.

Brendan Joyce is an artist, painter, illustrator and cartoonist from Massachusetts. This is his first foray into children's literature, created at the Motherbook Art Studios near his childhood home.
